Every Thursday through Sunday night in San Francisco’s Castro region, someone called Marshall utilizes their home to host an event for any other gay men whom share an equivalent intimate interest: no condoms. Admission is $8, and when I spend, Marshall hands me an item of paper. “This is a bareback party, ” the house guidelines read. “It is thought all visitors are HIV+ or are making the choice to go to this type of celebration. Therefore, you will see no discussion of status, medicine or illness. ” Partygoers also needs to signal a declaration of these intention to not infect a person with HIV.
